Welcome to T. Rae horsemanship
Helping horses and riders reach their full potential.
T. Rae horsemanship is natural horsemanship based training. Founder and head trainer Terri-Lee Rae has done multiple natural horsemanship apprenticeships and has now developed her own methods suited to each individual horses personality. We believe in creating harmony between horse and rider. Not only do we focus on horse behavior but also the physical training of the competing horse and rider.
About Your Next Favorite Horse Trainer
Passionate. Patient. Persistent. Understanding. Each horse is an individual and learns differently therefore my methods are adjusted to suit each individual. My aim is not just to train or fix problems but to give each owner and rider the knowledge and confidence needed to work with thier horses. My goal is to produce horses that are calm and confident as well as easy to work with, I also work on helping riders gain confidence and trust in thier horses. I have competed in dressage, show jumping, eventing and mounted games. My method is gentle and effective building trust and communication through ground work and working up gently to the backing process. A soild training foundation means a horse will always move forward, where horses trained with little to no foundation will develop problems in training later.
Training
Leave It to the Expert
Training is gentle, no gimmicks or gadgets, easy to understand, focus on calm relaxed horses.
Horse Behavior Training
If your horse needs help with a specific physical or behavioral issue, Horse Behavior Training with T. Rae horsemanship may be a great option for you. Send your horse to us for training or we can travel.
Ground Training
My Ground Training work involves an intimate understanding of your horses natural and individual history. Your horse has plenty of potential to learn and understand commands, and my techniques will lay the foundation for you to build upon. I combine your needs and wants with the natural attributes of your horse. Alot of fun can be had with ground work and it's a great way to better your understanding of your horse.
Foal Training
Don't wait till your foal is a large pushy yearling to start training. It's important for your foal to be tame and halter trained from a young age.
Backing
Backing starts with a solid ground work Fondation, the horses learn to accept the tack and the rider and its taught the aids during ground work. A horse that has had a rider forced upon its back is not a very willing or trusting horse.
